My new carpet!!!

We got our carpet!!! Yay!!! Me and mike stayed up late last night and put the carpet in the bedroom and I am loving it. It is so exciting to have carpet down there... it makes it feel like a real bedroom finally. I can't wait till we get the kitchen floor done so that we can put the carpet in the living room as well.

Javid trying out the new carpet (Lexi was still asleep)

Reaching for daddy's hand

Got it!

Mike pulling Javid across the floor (you can barely see Mike's hand at the edge of the picture)

And now they're watching a show together on Daddy's phone... Silly boys
And of course, Javid's got his tongue out!

Gymnastics

We decided to enroll Lexi in gymnastics this year and I am so glad that we did. She absolutely loves it! She is the only two year old in the class, the rest of the kids are 3, but she does wonderfully. It makes me so proud of her that she can sit and listen and take direction right along with the older girls. I love to take her every week and see her improve. Totally worth the drywall that we traded the instructor for in payment for classes and the drive to Soda once a week.

These were all taken the first week. She now does all these things without help!

Brother and Sister

I right now just want to brag about how wonderful my kids are. Alexia is such a great big sister, that girl loves Javid like crazy and amazingly he absolutely loves her too. I say amazingly because for one she's two and we all know how gently and nice two year olds usually are, and for two... she's a little extra rough with her love. But he loves her! He can be crying and she'll go start talking to him and he's fine. She had him laughing like crazy the other day and all she was doing was jumping. I love it!! And she is so loving and helpful and extremely protective. The other day I was holding him and he was fussing and she said, "Mom, he doesn't want you, he wants me!" So, I put him on her lap and.... yep, you guessed it! He stopped fussing.

Home Improvements!!!

So, for anyone who has ever been in our house it is a major fixer upper! And that's putting it nicely. When we moved in the basement was pretty much uninhabitable, there was one bedroom, a kitchen that was pretty much taken over by a relatively small table, and a bathroom that was so small with a tiny short sink smack dab in front of the toilet(you could literally wash your hand while sitting on the toilet without any trouble), no shower, and awful stained carpet everywhere. Not complaining mind you, I am totally greatfull for this house. I am just saying all this to illustrate how far it has come and how far it is going soon(hopefully soon). So, we have now lived here almost 3 years and in that time we've gutted the basement, framed and dry-walled one bedroom downstairs, expanded the bathroom, added a shower, tore up most of the carpet(all but the living room is now hard floors), we've moved the door to the room that was the upstairs bedroom and turned it into a dining room/computer room with refinished hard wood, and completely replaced the floor in the mud room. Now I'm really writing this post because I am so excited about the most recent improvements.... Kitchen floor(currently we're refinishing the hard wood), and the pantry!!! I LOVE my new pantry. It is right off the dining room in a space that used to be part of the mud room. There is also a little loft type area right off the pantry over the stairs that is to hold totes and other such storage items. I so love having this pantry and I am so thankful that my husband was able to build it.

Here are some pictures also of Alexia helping Mike sand the kitchen floor. She just loves to help her Dad use tools.

Javid 4 Months

Well, Javid is now 4 months old. Wow how time flies. We went to the doctor last week for his 4 month check and I decided that since I don't have a little baby calendar thing for him like I had for Lexi that you write down the weights and stuff I would just do that on here. So, at 4 months Javid is 25 inches long and we think 15 lbs 15 oz. Now I say we think because Javid made it very hard to get an accurate weight. He has not really been one to  hold still for very long, he is always moving. At about 3 months he figured out how to roll over and he is very strong. Well, when we put him in the scale he immediately started trying to get out. He started lifting his head up (got it up over the 4 inch lip that's on the scale) and was trying to sit up, roll over, or whatever. But he refused to hold still. He did succeed in rolling onto his belly while in the scale. So our best guess on which reading we were getting that was the most accurate was 15.15.

Jagamore

So you know how when you take a kid to a yard sale and they just HAVE to buy a toy of some sort? And of course since it's only 25 cents we always let them. And then it usually goes unplayed with... because they really didn't like it that much it was just the best piece of junk they could find right? Well, this summer Lexi found a yard sale toy that she still loves, she plays with it all the time... and yes, it was 25 cents. This toy is Jagamore.

Okay, so it's really a tiger. But don't tell Lexi. One of her favorite shows is Go Diego Go and his little sidekick is baby jaguar, she says it Jagamore. So, when she saw this tiger at the yard sale she thought it was a jaguar and it has been her Jagamore ever since. She loves it! And last night she was even riding him around the house.

The Zoo

Well we went down to the Hogle Zoo this week. It was a lot of fun. We went on Monday and went shopping with Lacey. BTW we found the best smoothie shop ever at the Gateway mall.... Juicy Berry is amazing! Had a great night in  the hotel, despite Lexi's insane grouchiness. And the next morning we hit the zoo. They had a new thing this year doing dinosaurs (Zoorasic Park), I think that was Lexi's favorite part.
Aside from riding the train. She absolutely loved the train!
Getting a picture with the Bald Eagle after the bird show
It's hard to tell but there are elephants in the backround
She got a little tired by the end of the day
Javid was a little tired all day... I think the heat was getting to him a little bit

Javid Michael Coburn

Javid Michael Coburn was born into our little family at 4:34 am on Thursday, June 2! He was 7 lbs 3 oz and 19 1/2 inches long and very healthy!

This was Lexi's first time holding her new little brother. I think she was a little overwhelmed and not quite sure what to think at the moment.

This is how she spent the majority of that first morning visit!

After a nap and some lunch she came back very excited about her baby brother! Very protective too! At this point she was not allowing Hailey to hold him.

We are now home and all doing very well. Lexi is not hardly letting Javid out of her sight, the minute she woke from her nap today she asked, "Where's Javid?". So far not too much jealousy, only when she's tired and wanting to cuddle while I"m feeding him. She even was telling me not to touch him last night while he was in his bassinet. What a good big sister she's becoming already!

Content

So, on Monday I was very, very frustrated with the fact that I had not gone into labor yet. I was frustrated, exhausted and uncomfortable. I spent basically the entire day just laying around the house doing absolutely nothing. And to tell ya the truth, I was VERY close to calling up the doctor and telling him that I wanted to be induced in the morning. Well, after a good cry I said a prayer to help me decide if I should get induced. Well, by Tuesday morning I felt much more content. I had accepted the fact that I may be in this pre-labor, contracting stage for days. My appointment was also yesterday, the dr. stripped my membranes to possibly help speed up the process, and gave me enough sleeping pills to last a week. So, I'm sleeping okay, and I'm able to function during the day despite still having contractions. I have accepted the fact that I could go into real labor at any time, be it today or next week... I'm okay with it.

Still Waiting!

Well, no baby boy yet! The contractions have not gone away.... so that is two full days now of contractions.... not fun! They are progressively getting closer and stronger, but they are apparently not doing ANYTHING because we went in to get checked today because we were getting very antsy and I'm still exactly the same as I was at my Dr. appointment on Wednesday! And I thought that this stage lasted a long time with Lexi! Well, it has now doubled the time that it took me to get into actual labor with her and I'm still waiting. This had better not be an indication of how stubborn the child actually is because... WOW. I cannot even imagine a child more stubborn than Alexia!

Speaking of that sweet little thing... she said the funniest thing today. I was trying to change her diaper and she wrapped her arms around my neck so that I couldn't. I told her to let go and her reply was... "Sorry Mom, I not letting go!"

This Could Be It!

Well, I was up until 4 o'clock this morning having contractions.... and amazingly was still having contractions when I woke up this morning(without an alarm and before Lexi woke up) at 8:30. And they're still coming! I'm still not sure that this is the real thing, with all the fake stuff the last couple of weeks I'm not prepared to say I'm in labor till I'm absolutely sure. But this is the most encouraging so far. My dilemma today is.... I'm supposed to work this evening! I'm seriously considering calling in..... BUT.... If I do call in and the contractions stop and I don't go into labor I will feel horrible for calling in and leaving the girls short. And if I don't call in and I go into labor at work and get to the point that I can't work I will for one be totally worn out during the hard part of labor, and for two will feel like I either have to stay at work or go down to the hospital whether I'm really ready to be admitted or not and won't be able to labor at home like I would prefer. AHHH!!!! What to do???? Oh yeah, and I have to make the decision in the next 20 minutes because you have to call in 2 hours before your shift starts.

Hello Everyone!

Well, I have finally done it! I created a blog! So, I'll start by updating everyone on my life and the happenings in my little family. Alexia just turned two, we had a great little party for her at my parents house on Saturday and she got very spoiled. Amazingly she can still remember which of her things she got as presents. She is still calling the books that she got "my presents". Yesterday, I finally brought the doll house that I made her home from my parents, and it was like giving it to her all over again. It was great!

As most of you know, we are expecting a new little  addition to the family, basically any day now. I am due on the 28th, yes of this month! (I've gotten that quite a few times lately when people ask me when I'm due). I have been having some contractions over the last couple weeks and I've been dilated to a 2 for a week and a half! So, it could be anytime. We're just trying to wait patiently, though the patiently part fails sometimes. I just have to keep reminding myself that he's not due for another 8 days, and he'll come when he's ready.

Me and Mike are doing great. I just finished my second year of school... only 3 to go! I will be out of school and work all summer, it's gonna be great! Mike is thinking of going back to school this fall, but it depends on what he finds as far as work goes. He's applied to Family Dollar and Dicks and is going to apply to Alexander Company in Bancroft, so hopefully something comes of one of those. He has been stay at home dad over the winter and it's been great, but I think he's ready to get out of the house.

Well, that's about it! Thanks for reading!
