A Great Day In SLC

So we left for the Ackerman Family Reunion today! At around 8:00 this morning we had the trailer loaded and we all piled in the car... and I do mean piled. Mom and Dad in front, Chase and the two kids in the middle row, and Lacey, Hailey and I in the very back. The very back row is supposed to only fit two but we put down the seat, put in a futon mattress and some pillow and piled in. It was actually a very enjoyable ride to Salt Lake both kids were awake the whole ride resulting in stopping 4 times before we got past Logan... 2 of them for Lexi to potty. We were quite entertained by the kids though. One great conversation with Lexi was about where we were going. We told her we were going to Utah for the family reunion, and we asked her where we live... her answer, "Not at Utah!" Followed by a great conversation about where in Utah we were going. When we got to Salt Lake Hailey and I took the kids to temple square and to the mall for lunch while the others went to the Temple. We had a lot of fun.

First we walked around Temple Square and looked around the visitors center. We went up to the Christ Statue and Lexi though it was really cool but would not go up to it for a picture. Javid quite enjoyed it though.

We then went over to the Museum and the kids played in the kid area.

Then we went and had lunch at the mall and played at the play area they have. It is awesome!! The kids played there for like an hour!

Mid-Jump

Lexi love jumping on these things

After this we went back towards temple square, visited all of the fountains, taught Lexi how to wish when throwing a penny in the fountain. Lexi wished for a, "Little Doll Jesus". It was adorable. Then we decided to go back to the museum until everyone else was done at the Temple.

We then headed to Lehi where we are staying tonight and on to the reunion in Junction tomorrow!

Bountiful... Not Idaho Falls

So when deciding to go to the temple our original plans were to go to the Logan temple. When we found out that it was closed we decided on the Idaho Falls temple because we did not want to put it off. Well, turns out the Idaho Falls temple is also closed that week! So since it is important to us to not put it off and to also because Chase is leaving on his mission on the 11th, we decided on the Bountiful Temple.

So, we will be going through the Bountiful Temple
July 7th at 11:30 am

The Idaho Falls Temple! That's where me and Mike and our kids will be getting sealed together! On July 7th! I have been waiting for this day for so long and cannot believe how lucky I am. I knew when I decided to marry Mike that he was the right man for me, and I knew that despite the fact that the only thing he knew about the church before meeting me was that it used to practice polygamy, he would someday be baptized and would someday take me to the temple to be sealed to him. I knew that statistically this becoming a reality is very unlikely, but at the same time I knew it would happen. I don't know how I knew, but I did! And now, 5 years later, it's happening!

Alexia is so excited for this to happen also, she has started to recognize the temple and she knows she's going to go there and is very much wanting to go.

Garden

We have decided to plant a garden this year and I am going to learn how to can!

It spans almost the whole width of our back yard(it's really not curved, the panoramic setting just made it look that way).

My poor tomatoes are probably going to have to be replaced, it got pretty cold a couple nights ago.

Peppers are looking kinda sad as well

Romaine Lettuce

Broccoli

Purple Cabbage

The little starts of Radishes

Kale

Zucchini

Strawberries- We planted these a few years ago, but this will be the first year that we'll (hopefully) have enough to make some jams.

Rhubarb

Mint

Chives

We also have planted some asparagus that will not be able to be harvested for 2 years, as well as some other vegitables in the garden that haven't come up yet. Very excited to learn to can and make jams and salsas to add to my food storage!

My Boy is One!!

Javid turned a year old on Saturday and he had a great birthday! He woke up at about 6 am and me and him did our usual morning thing: go upstairs and he eats some breakfast, then go into the living room, he plays on the floor while I get a little more shut eye on the couch (I know, sounds very irresponsible but I have a gate up so he can't get out of the living room and the living room is pretty well baby proofed. Plus I'm a very light sleeper ever since I became a mom. So he is perfectly safe.), after a little while he starts to get fussy and then gets a bottle, sometimes he then takes a nap with me on the couch and lucky for me (cuz lexi was up late the night before) this was one of those mornings, so we both had a very good nap on the couch until lexi came upstairs. We then got ready to go to Grandma and Grandpa's house. Where this was waiting for Javid....

He's very happy with this gift from Grandma and Grandpa

I'm very happy with it too btw... I'm planning to take it to Disneyland!

Later all of my family came over and we grilled hot dogs and then opened presents and had cake. It was a really great party and Javid had a blast.
